Ana Miyares
Director of Outreach and Technical Assistance
Ana has been a leading Time Dollar champion and enthusiast since 1987 when she began using Time Dollars as a volunteer in the Greater Miami Service Credit Consortium, one of the programs funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's original investment in service credit exchanges and Time Dollars. Ana's experience as a Time Dollar volunteer inspired her to become a Project Coordinator for the Greater Miami Service Credit Consortium, and from there she went on to become the organization's Executive Director in 1988. Having had a lead role in the creation of a hugely successful program in Miami, Ana joined forces with Edgar in 1991 to create the Time Dollar Network, but soon after its founding, she was forced to return to her work in community revitalization by the devastation of Hurricane Andrew.
After four more years administering programs focusing on the elderly in Miami, Ana turned to a training and consulting role in 1996 and came to work for the Time Dollar USA. Currently based in Miami, Florida, Ana provides training and coaching to existing programs and Time Dollar start-up groups across the country. A passionate public speaker with the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, Ana has regularly addressed audiences at conferences and formal events around the world and has gained national and international recognition for her moving testimony on Time Dollars. Prior to her discovery of Time Dollars, in what seems like a prior life, Ana worked as a banker, having climbed the corporate ladder to the position of Senior Vice President of the Citizens and Southern International Bank in Miami, Florida. One of the most experienced Time Dollar people in the world, Ana has provided inspiration to thousands through her coaching and with her passionate commitment to Time Dollars and all that Time Dollars stands for.
